Nokia Asha 501 with FREE Facebook access



Nokia  Asha 501, a smart device to take on the low-cost Android phones in developing markets like India.


At a global event held in New Delhi, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop said that the company had been very impressed by the way Asha phones performed so far and that it was time to refresh the platform. He said the Series 5 Asha phones had been made specifically for consumers in countries like India.



Nokia Asha 501, a new full touch device with swipe UI, and part of a whole new Asha series of devices. It’s the first product of the new generation Asha's with a brand new platform. The design is inspired by Lumia and Nokia picked red as the signature color. It s made of only two parts to make it more durable and cheaper to manufacture. The back is removable to access the microSIM, the pre-installed 4GB microSD card (up to 32GB supported) and the battery. The phone packs a 3" QVGA capacitive touchscreen on the front (133ppi), it supports two finger multitouch. On the back, there's 3.2MP fixed-focus camera.

OS & Processor 

This device runs on the new Asha software platform. The Nokia Asha 501 is the first handset to feature this software. This device also has swipe UI. There is a 1 GHz processor loaded in the handset for the smooth performance of the device. It also features 64 MB RAM in it. 

Hardware 

The Nokia Asha 501 comes with a 3-inch display screen that offers visuals at 320 x 240 pixels. This handset comes with a bar shaped design and its touchscreen ensures easy navigation. It measures 12.1 mm in thickness and weighs about 98 grams. The 1200 mAh battery loaded in this handset promises up to 17 hours of talk time and 48 days of standby time (for single SIM). 

Camera & Memory 

This handset comes with a 3.2 MP primary camera that helps in capturing images with impressive resolution. The internal memory of this handset is not so significant. However, the Nokia Asha 501 has a microSD slot for memory expansion up to 32 GB. This device comes with 4 GB microSD card included in it. 

Media & Connectivity 

The Nokia Asha 501 comes with media features that include music player, video player, FM radio and SNS apps etc. Internet support is offered through different platforms like WiFi, GPRS and EDGE. The Xpress Browser loaded in this handset offers great browsing experience for the user. This handset also comes with Bluetooth and micro USB port for file transfer.
